Back-to-School Day Information and Welcome to New Teachers

By now you should have received the most anticipated letter of the summer, the letter from your child’s 2014-2015 teacher. If your family has not received this mailing, please contact the Rock Creek office at (502) 897-3372 as soon as possible. This letter contains forms and other critical information you will need for Back-to-School Day on Monday, August 11. Each family is required to submit the following forms during orientation. These forms are also available on the newly designed Rock Creek website if you need additional copies:

The Rock Creek website also contains other information needed as you prepare for the first day of school on August 13. We encourage you to access this site frequently throughout the year for important news and updates. If you need specific information such as summer reading forms, school supply lists, dress code guidelines, bus consent forms, etc., these documents can be found on our site by clicking on “Elementary,” then “Documents and Links.”

As a reminder, Back-to-School Day is Monday, August 11, – see schedule below. Please bring your completed forms to the gym at the assigned time. When you turn in your forms, you will receive a packet of information. After you check in at the gym and receive your packet, you are invited to meet your student’s teacher and other class members in your assigned classroom.

  • Grades 1-2 Monday, August 11, 8:30-9:45 a.m.
  • Grades 3-4-5 Monday, August 11, 10-11:15 a.m.
  • Kindergarten Monday, August 11, 6:30-7:45 p.m.

Please turn in completed Summer Reading assignments to your classroom teacher on Back-to-School Day. This activity is required for grades 1-5. Kindergarten is encouraged to participate as well. We will host a reading celebration event on Friday, August 15. If you would like to volunteer to help, please contact our librarian, Mrs. Gates,
