  • Dana Joss Named Big South Lacrosse Freshman of the Week

    Longwood freshman midfielder Dana Joss has been named the Big South Freshman of the Week, as announced Tuesday by the conference.A product of Louisville, Ky., Joss scored a career-best three goals in Saturday's contest against George Mason and won a team-high six draw controls while dishing out an assist.   • Lady Centurion Alumni China Dow Headed to NCAA Tournament

    China Dow's shooting slump is over. Way over. Dow came off the bench to score a career-high 31 points and Florida Gulf Coast rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat Atlantic Sun regular-season champion Stetson 77-70 on Sunday and advance to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in six seasons."Championship game you have to do big moments, do big things," the redshirt junior, who spent two seasons at Middle Tennessee, said.

  • Chad Meredith Named OVC Defensive Player of the Week

    Congratulations to CAL alum football player, Chad Meredith, who was named OVC (Ohio Valley Conference) Defensive Player of the Week.Chad Meredith had a game-high 12 tackles (8 solo) as Southeast Missouri knocked off No. 13 Eastern Illinois 21-14 to improve to 2-0 in OVC play. He keyed a Redhawks defense that allowed only one offensive touchdown and 316 yards of total offense.

  • Caroline Rassenfoss Named ACC Freshman of the Week

    Wake Forest outside hitter Caroline Rassenfoss was named the Freshman of the Week Monday afternoon, the league announced. The outside hitter recorded a career-high 26 kills in a road win against Virginia on Friday.The award is the Demon Deacons’ first weekly award since teammate Caroline Wolf received Co-Player of the Week in October of last season. Kylie Long was the last Demon Deacon to receive the ACC Freshman of the Week accolade when she received the honor in November of 2014.

  • Cal Lewellyn Named SAA Defensive Player of the Week

    The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) released its Football Player of the Week awards on Monday afternoon, with Centre freshman cornerback Cal Lewellyn (Louisville, Ky.) garnering Defensive Player of the Week accolades.This marks the first Player of the Week nod for Lewellyn, who made eight tackles to go with a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a pair of pass breakups in the Colonels' 39-28 victory over Washington (Mo.) on the road on Saturday afternoon.Lewellyn's forced fumble wa...
