Fall is in the Air!

The changing color of the leaves in Seneca Park indicates fall is in the air! Fall at Rock Creek means report cards, PTO Skating Party, Chapel Service Days, Open House, Christmas at CAL, beautifully colored leaves and crisp cool days. We look forward to seeing you on campus this fall to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation with us.

God is Provider
In chapel we are studying the names of God. This month Mr. Jeff Wallace and staff from Hikes Point Christian Church will be teaching us about the name, Provider. Ask your child about chapel each week and share as a family how God provides for your daily needs. Look for his provision in both large and small circumstances, then rejoice in gratitude as a family.

Wednesday, October 16: Chapel Service Day
With gratitude we are collecting gently used or new blankets, coats, gloves, hats, and socks for donation to Wayside Mission for distribution to the homeless in our community.  Items may be brought to school, October 7-16. On Chapel Service Day, students will meet with Chapel Buddies to color and write notes of encouragement to those receiving our gifts. Look for a flyer in backpacks next week.

Tuesday, October 8: Rock Creek Skating Party
Join classmates at Champs Roller Dome from 6-8 p.m. to enjoy WKLA and our own DJ, MT Shell! Students who attend will receive a Jeans Day on Friday, October 11.

Tuesday, October 15: Chick-fil-A: Rock Creek Day
All Day – proceeds go to Rock Creek PTO! Stop by the St. Matthews Chick-fil-a on Shelbyville Road to enjoy a delicious meal and support the Rock Creek PTO. I’ll see you there!

Thursday and Friday, October 17, 18: NO SCHOOL for students

Monday, October 21: Report Cards distributed: Be sure to check backpacks

Tuesday, November 5: Rock Creek Open House
Please invite family, friends, and co-workers to visit our campus. You are our best ambassadors, and we will be asking you to serve as tour guides for guests.  Mark your calendars and say, “Yes!” when asked to help. Even better – call or email to volunteer.

Saturday, November 9: Christmas at CAL
Mark your calendars for our biggest fundraiser event of the year which requires everyone’s involvement. This is a fun filled family festival day. Please respond to flyers or emails sent from the Christmas at CAL planning committee.
