It's Winter Time!

The month of November has been filled with many activities and requests for donations of time and money. As usual, Rock Creek families contributed above and beyond! Thanks, again, for everything you do to help our students, school, faculty and staff. Your efforts are appreciated and a powerful reminder just how blessed we are to have such supportive families at Rock Creek.

I hope you were able to join us at Chapel this week as our kindergartners presented their Thanksgiving program. I am so proud of our students and wish to extend my appreciation to our kindergarten teachers: Mrs. Bischoff, Mrs. Cheser and Mrs. Poole. What a blessing it was to see God at work through these children!

Operation Christmas Child Update:
Our students collected approximately 153 boxes for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child program. Thanks to your generosity children throughout the world will hear the good news about Jesus Christ! Your donations contribute to our mission: Developing students with a heart for God.

CALert:
Monday’s weather was certainly a surprise! Who would have guessed we would have a snow day so early in the school year? If you have not registered for our emergency notification system, please do so today by accessing CALert. Completing this process will ensure you receive messages regarding school closings or emergencies.

Winter Dress Code:
Although we follow the Rock Creek dress code throughout the school year, drastic times call for a little grace and leniency. With this in mind, our staff has agreed on the following dress code adjustments on days when the temperature is below 32 degrees:

  • Boot are acceptable (rain/snow boots, fur lined boots, etc.). If worn, boots must remain on all day and cannot be removed unless changing into tennis shoes.
  • Send your child to school with tennis shoes as a backup.
    • Tennis shoes are required for P.E.
  • Girls – solid red, navy blue or white tights/leggings are allowed and encouraged. Leggings must be ankle length and without lace. Jeggings or denim type leggings are not acceptable.
  • Boys and Girls – don’t forget hats, gloves and winter coats. We want to keep everyone healthy and ready to learn!

Additional dress code information can be found in the Rock Creek Family handbook located here.
