Semester in Review

Dear Parents,

The Christmas Concert was an evening filled with simple joys and officially began the Christmas season for me. Thank you to Mrs. Stewart, students, teachers, parents and family members for making this a most special event at Rock Creek. We have much for which to be grateful and this semester has been filled with activities and celebration. Isn’t it difficult to believe one-half of the school year is over?! I hope you find time to slow down and enjoy family and friends during the break from school. One of my goals over the holidays is to individually pray for each Rock Creek family, and I look forward to spending time praying for your family.

Christmas at CAL – WOW!
Thanks to all our magnificent parent volunteers, Christmas at CAL was a huge success! In spite of the dreary rainy day we made $16,033, which will be reinvested in our classrooms and campus. PTO funds recently purchased the new sound system in the gym and also paid for the majority of the SMART Boards in classrooms. Thank you PTO and parents for providing and meeting our campus needs. We are grateful. Read more about Christmas at CAL here and a note from Chairman, Bethany Vornholt.

Open House
Hip! Hip! Hooray! We had 39 families visit Rock Creek during our November Open House event. This is the largest number attending in many years. Thank you to the parent volunteers who served as hosts and hostesses. You welcomed families and shared your love for our campus exceedingly well. Please continue to share with friends, families, and co-workers about Rock Creek. I would love to give them a tour of the campus. Check out pictures from Open House here.

Blue Ribbon School Celebration
What a special fun filled family night! Over 250 attended our evening as we celebrated the academic achievements of Rock Creek students. Dawn Shouse, marketing director, deserves our thanks for organizing a fantastic party for us. Be sure to check out the pictures on Christian Academy School System Facebook page! Be sure to LIKE the page and share the good news with others.

Chapel Service Day – January 23- Providing for local families
Our next Chapel Service Day is scheduled for January 23, and we need your help to make this service opportunity reality. Mrs. Wright has a true heart for serving and is leading Chapel Service Days. In her own words…
… Over Christmas students will be receiving new toys, books, and games. Please help provide for local families by cleaning out the previously loved toys, books and puzzles that no longer get as much attention in your homes. On Wednesday January 23, we will have a Chapel Service Day where items can be brought to school for donation to local ministries with needs. Take advantage of this opportunity and work together as a family to prepare items for donation by cleaning toys, making sure all puzzle/board game pieces are together, etc. If you bring in your items prior to the January 23, we can store them in the teachers' lounge located near the cafeteria. Items specifically needed: toys, puzzles, board games, children’s books, and boxes for transportation (diaper or copy paper sized boxes are ideal). We also need volunteers with a moving, delivery, or pick-up truck to transport donated items. Click here to see how you can get involved.
