What do you consider the beginning of the Christmas season?

...The Rock Creek Christmas concert is my official beginning of Christmas. I love seeing the students in Christmas dress and hearing their sweet voices sing sacred songs. Rock Creek continues to be filled with Christmas activities and your children keep me focused on the joy of Christmas. As adults, we get so busy preparing for Christmas that we sometimes forget the reason for celebration.

Celebratory shouts of “I found Jesus” filled the first grade classrooms as they completed a word search today. We had a laugh when Mrs. Peterson said it reminded her of an old fashioned revival, but the reality of “finding Jesus” is what life on this earth is all about. Jesus Christ came to earth to save us. Jesus’ birth provides joy, hope, purpose and peace. I am humbly reminded of this reality by your sweet children.

Speaking of sweet children, I am sharing a proud grandmother moment with this picture of the twins and their older sister. I would appreciate your prayers for my family over the next few weeks. Our son will have back surgery on December 18. My husband and I are traveling to North Carolina tomorrow and tentative plans are for me to remain with them through January 9, possibly January 16. I am truly blessed beyond measure with the professional staff at our campus which allows me to spend this time with my family. Thankfully, technology allows me to remain in close contact with staff and parents.

My Christmas prayer is for your family to slow down, have game nights, make memories and to “find Jesus” over the Christmas break.
